The goal of this project is to produce an urban mural that recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the growth of modern society.
By highlighting their significant contribution to the advancement of our society and industry, the mural will honor the city's working women. These women worked as "Peixeiras," or fishmongers, and were either the wives or daughters of fishermen. Since people typically only discuss the masculine figure, such as the fishermen and how essential they were in the picture, this project aims to give the woman figure the very much needed value.
60’s photographer Artur Pastor and his fieldwork served as inspiration for this illustration.
The intention is to illustrate the value of women in a captivating and vibrant way, particularly for younger generations to notice.
